Karmagawa Interview With Jamie Foxx

We recently sat down with award-winning actor, comedian and singer Jamie Foxx at his home in Hidden Valley, California to discuss life, family and charity. Foxx, who was raised by adoptive parents he calls his grandparents, is such a dedicated family man that the first thing he began talking about was how proud he is of his 2 daughters…Anelise Bishop, his youngest, is already part of the Writers Guild, having written an anime script at the age of 11 and his oldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, 28, runs Foxx’s company and already has several movie and TV credits to her name. Foxx says “that’s what you try to do, you get behind things that are really going to impact the youth, it’s the youth who really know what’s going on in the world” which is why one of his favorite charities is The LadyLike Foundation, whose purpose is to educate, empower, and inspire young ladies living in underprivileged communities.

After Foxx heard how Karmagawa has now built 100+ schools, he said, “I’m so glad you’re doing this with all the schools, that’s the most important thing and far too little money is being spent on education. We should put more money into the schools and find more ways to empower the kids.”

And because Foxx was himself adopted, he understands all emotion and “angst” surrounding adoption, which inspired him to become a national spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters, whose mission is to “create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth”

Foxx also has his own foundation, The Jamie Foxx Foundation, which provides for the health, education, and welfare of children throughout the world, including housing, and HIV/AIDS issues in Africa and Haiti.
