A heartbreaking video of a depressed captive tiger walking in circles non-stop at a zoo has gone viral.
Many of us have experienced the discomfort of being locked down during the coronavirus pandemic … so imagine the psychological effects of being in captivity for a tiger that would normally have between 5 to 60 miles to roam in the wild where it belongs.
The viral video has amassed more than 10 million views and has caused a stir from horrified onlookers and animal lovers, concerned about the beautiful white Bengal tiger’s mental health and quality of life.
The Beijing Zoo recently responded to the outrage, reportedly stating that this is just the expected behavior for animals that have stayed in a zoo for a long period of time…
They also allegedly claimed that the tiger has received ‘psychological counseling’ in the form of behavior training, food, and toys to help the animal return to normal…
Does any of this seem “normal” to you?
